This piece proves that it pays to plough through original art looking for gems. I had no idea when I went through the portfolios of an artist whose work seemed to be almost exclusively Winnie the Pooh, that I was dealing with Mike Royer, Jack Kirby's longtime inker and an artist whose career was so notable that the 2004 San Diego Comic Con devoted an entire program to him.

Nowadays, Mike Royer works heavily on Winnie the Pooh, but I found some gems that fit into my collection, the winsome Tinkerbell, including a nice and less nice version.

There is a small industry for Disney lapel pins and Tink is one of the most popular, if not the most popular single character on them. I haven't found the pin for which this was the design, (I haven't looked much) but my guess is that it was used. I'm not so sure about the other one, though.
