I dont know the book but man what a lovely painting! and thank you for putting up a large scan of it, though I wager the details on the original are insane

Now this is gorgeous. I've been a fan of Michael's work for as long as I can remember. I would buy books to read based on his cover work. Happy you were able to talk Doug out of this one as it's a real beauty.
