so so happy to get this page! i think all of the early dc comics i owned as a kid all had kubert covers - tarzan, hawkman, weird war stories... have always loved his work.

what i love about this page (besides cavemen and wooly mammoths - and the tanks mimicking the mammoths) is the top panel - revealing how elegantly kubert's visual thinking could be laid bare - seeing half of sgt. rock's face from the outside and half looking into what's going on inside... freaking great.

Great one! Rock's eye really seems fixed on the reader, as does the tank muzzle in the last panel. Congrats, Steve!
