Description

Russ Manning is very closely connected with Tarzan and his son Korak, having drawn the Gold Key Tarzan series from 1965 to 1969 and the first 11 issues of the Korak series in 1964 and 1965. Manning would later take on the Tarzan newspaper strip, doing the dailies from 1969 to 1972 and the Sunday page until 1979. All of this makes Manning one of the most important "Tarzan Family" artists of the Silver Age forward and consequently his work on the characters is widely collected. This 1965 page features Korak in 5 of the 6 panels and comes from an Arabian adventure titled "Lair of the Dragon". This is a fine example of Manning's tightly tuned rendering on one of his best known projects from an early vintage. This is large twice-up art with an image area of approximately 12" x 18".
