Here's a splash page from Brightest Day #21, showing J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter, sacrificing himself to save Earth from the scourge of D'Kenn, a homicidal Martian. Great pencils by Pat Gleason were a hallmark of this storyline, and this page's simplicity and dramatic finish is no different! Inked by Mark Irwin, this sequence of pages helped reveal the newest White Lantern...
