Description
A groggy Scott Summers (a.k.a. Cyclops), a leader among the X-men mumbles and stumbles into the bathroom first thing in the morning, then gets a surprise.
Scott, deep in thought as only one can while just waking up, in reference to his life:Uncanny.
In so many ways, the world has changed COMPLETELY in the past weeks.
And in OTHER ways...
...It HASN"T changed at all.
YES, the heroes are GONE.
The X-men were betrayed by the man who BROUGHT us together.
Even the weather os JUST NOW coming around.
But the SMALL things... the PRIVATE things?

Scott carefully makes the transition from goggles into the specially treated ruby quartz lenses, and continues thinking: I'm still HOBBLED by my mutant power.
I still have a WIFE who LOVES me.... who makes it ALL worthwhile.
And-- SURPRISE, SURPRISE--
--The REST of the world still wants to KILL us all... just because we're "DIFFERENT."
Someday, I just want to know: different from WHAT?

Surprise, surprise, Scott looks into the mirror to find his good friend and longtime teammate Henry "Hank" McCoy (a.k.a. Beast) reading the Daily Bugle paper. That"ll really wake you up with a shock!

One of the best Uncanny X-men comics of the 90's. Maybe of all of them! Great story, great characterizations! What I wouldn't give for that Hank McCoy today!
