Description
I first found the art of Bryan Baugh back in 2008 when his series "Wulf and Batsy" was being printed by Viper Comics. I initially picked the comics up because Josh Howard was doing the artwork for the covers. I soon found the delightfully sinister work of Bryan Baugh in the great stories about a Werewolf and Vampire traveling around the countryside and ending up in bizarre situations. Definitely an enjoyable read if you like fun horror stories.
Recently I noticed that Bryan was offering to do commissions. I had contacted him previously when the comics were first being printed by Viper to see if original art was available and found out it wasn't but he said he did do commissions. At that time I didn't go through with it and probably should have. Well I remedied that by finally ordering a couple. The first piece that I commissioned arrived today.
I decided to go with the most obvious choice for me. A piece featuring Nara Kilday and Hazy Foss from Josh Howard's Dead@17 comic. I asked that Bryan do a piece where Hazy is in distress as she is being attacked by a zombie. Naturally Nara is there to come to her rescue. I asked that the piece be set in a graveyard and left the rest up to Bryan. Seeing as I only opted for the 2 character commission I figured that the piece would have a zombie's arm reaching out of a grave. Well as you can see Bryan went above and beyond my expectations including 4 very creepy zombies.
When I first opened the package I was very pleased to see that the beautiful Hazy was greeting me front and center. As I am sure you probably know by now Hazy is my favorite character so I thrilled Bryan had put her out front and center. The piece is the perfect blend of creepy and sexy which is exactly what you come to expect from a Bryan Baugh piece. He does beautiful women and creepy monsters so well. Looking at the piece you can't help but hope that Nara gets to Hazy in time to rescue her. Both girls look gorgeous and the look of terror on Hazy's face is priceless. She looks absolutely terrified. An awesome piece to add to the collection.
