Description

Very large 24 by 34 inch stretched canvas marked on back with Scribners sticker Colonial scene in Port Royal- not sure if it is a cover or an interior as Scribners used both. Have owned it for over 30 years. It is a classic piece of early illustration either late 1890's or early 20th century- slight scraping near Black boy's foot and a small hole above the iron work above left of the woman's head - could use a restretching to tighten it up otherwise a nice example of a major illustrator's work that is probably over 100 years old. Yohn was a contemporary of Gibson
