DescriptionI need to start by saying this is one of the coolest Batman vs Joker pieces I have come across, and while not a focus per se, I do tend to buy cool Joker pieces when I find them:) I only recently became aware of the brilliant work being done by yet another Italian superstar artist named Francesco Mattina, and I have to admit it blew me away. I first came across a Spider-man vs Lizard piece of his on Ebay and immediately felt like I had to have it, although my cash flow at the time meant I lost out on it. But fortunately, Francesco did a few of these commission paintings and I was able to find someone else who had one I liked even more! When I saw this one was available I knew I had to get it and immediately started up talks to make it mine. All the other Mattina Batman pieces you see on the galleries are dark and brooding, but this one has the color that just POPS and a full-on crazy Joker that made it the one for me! I'm a sucker for a nice painting and finding new artists to collect and I think I got both in this one. :)Also, apparently Francesco does all of his cover work digitally and doesn't really do interior work. So he mostly just does cover work for Marvel now (If anyone is interested in seeing more, you can do a Google image search under his name and you will see some incredible cover work.) and since all of that is digital only, you can only get physical art from him as a full commission painting like this or one of his con commissions. That's the reason you do not see more of his incredible work on CAF. This piece measures 11x15 inches and is done in acrylic paint and mixed media on a thick Crescent art board. Social/Sharing |

Wow this guy is talented! I never heard of him before I seen this but now I will keep eye out for his work. Great pickup for sure, Congrats.

Very cool! He's new to me, too! But this is awesome and the colorful "laughter" make this piece!

Insanely cool Joker painting by Italian superstar Francesco Mattina! I love the deep, rich colors on this. Joker's white face really pops against the dark background. I like the rim lighting on the Joker as the Batman's dark silhouette drops down on him like a thunderbolt! Fabulous addition to your amazing collection!
