Description

When John Byrne made the Uncanny X-Men team commission for me, he made a little costume mistake and drew Wolverine's regular Dave Cockrum costume instead of the costume I requested, the brown one he designed for Uncanny X-Men #139, which has always been my favorite.
As soon as he realized the mistake, he gave me the choice of refusing the commission and being refunded (no way I would have chosen this), being offered a partial refund and keep the commission, or being offered an additional commission of Wolverine in the costume I originally requested.
Of course, I chose the additional commission, and this is the result.
And I love everything about it. No one, and I really mean no one, draws Wolverine like John Byrne. But that actually is true for a lot of characters...
Anyway, the team commission is a fabulous birthday gift from all my friends and family, and this Wolverine commission I consider as a birthday present from John Byrne himself.

Love the pose and the mug on this one! Byrne really put his stamp on Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men characters.
