OA E.R. Cruz
Filipinas (1934), Eufronio Reyes Cruz, tras cinco años de experiencia como profesional de la historieta en su archipiélago natal, llegó a los Estados Unidos como el resto de sus compatriotas, en los primeros setenta, y trabajó sobre todo en el sello editorial DC. Sus primeros lápices y tintas se vieron a partir de 1972 en series de tensión y horror como The Unexpected, Witching Tour, Ghosts, Tales of the Ghost Castle, Serlock Holmes, The Shadow o Secrets of Haunted House. Parecía ser que el estilo de Cruz convenía a la empresa para los relatos con atmósferas recargadas y los thrillers. Pero pronto demostró el filipino que podía trabajar en otros géneros además de los terroríficos, como demostró en los comic books bélicos: G.I. Combat, Weird War Tales y All-Out War. Pero no dejó de dibujar historietas plagadas de sombras, como DC Special Series, 7 (Especial de Ghosts), Secrets of Haunted House, Elvira’s House of Mystery, en DC, y los tres primeros números de la serie Moon Knight Vol. II, en 1985, estos ya en Marvel.
