Behind John Byrne and George Perez, Sal Buscema, to me, was a part of the Marvel 1970s magic. While I did not recognize the credits as a child reading his comic books, he had a very smooth style in Captain America, in the Incredible Hulk, and in the Spectacular Spider-Man that I liked. I have been fortunate to collect much of his work over the years, concentrating mostly on the issues that I read as a child. It is a benefit that many people over-look his art, and the benefit is that his prices have not escalated to the same extent as Byrne and Perez.
