I'm not exactly sure how to characterize Lynda Barry's work. On one hand, there's an roughness to some of her art; a roughness that delves into the undersides of things. You know, things that we're not really sure how much we want to be privvy to. On the other hand, there's a sheer beauty and joyfulness to much of Lynda's work. She allows an exploration--sometimes playful; sometimes serious--to be self-revealing in those pieces. Hell, there's is a self-revealing quality to all of her work. I'm just glad she explores as much as she does.
