These are commissions of Golden Age characters based on the central theme that they never became obscure public domain (PD) characters. Instead, I'm "pretending" that a company (I'm using the logo for Better/Standard/Nedor's "Standard Comics" imprint on any cover recreations) bought up all those characters and continued to publish them since the 1940s. So, in North America, there wouldn't have just been DC and Marvel, but DC and Marvel and Standard. Just helps tie things together (I hope).
For whatever reason, I've gravitated to an obscure character (he appeared like 19 times in the mid-forties) called the Grim Reaper. And I love's me some Black Orchid.
I've got a bunch of silly ideas, let's hope the money doesn't run out!
