The master of adventure! Roy Crane's storytelling, as well as his blend of realistic art and cartoon elements, has never ceased to amaze
me. His Wash Tubbs set the scene for the more photorealistic adventure strips by Foster, Hogarth, Raymond, and Caniff and his secret was
to keep it simple. Less was always more. Still this did not prevent him from composing complex storylines, temporarily deceive his readers or
cast shadows of doubt even on the moral of his heroes. I can only hope it would have pleased him to know that his art is still appreciated.
And you fellow and rare Crane fans out there: don't hesitate to drop me a mail and say hello!
