BERNAL , ANTONIO : CORSARIO DE HIERRO
Antonio Bernal , illustrator, was born in Hospitalet de Llobregat (Spain) in 1924. During 70's and 80's he drew and painted the most important cover illustrations of spanish comics for titles as Trueno Color (Capitan Trueno) , Jabato Color (El Jabato) , Corsario de Hierro , Joyas Literarias , El coyote , etc. Algunas de sus obras forman parte (sin que pueda parecer exagerado el decirlo) de la memoria colectiva de este pais , obras magníficas creadas por los pinceles de un artista irrepetible. Indudablemente la razón de ser y el centro de mi pequeña colección de originales. El Corsario de Hierro es el tercer gran personaje de Víctor Mora a los que Antonio Bernal dedicó sus más maravillosas e impactantes portadas. El formato inicialmente casi cuadrado las distingue del rectangular usado para tanto Trueno como Jabato Color.
