I don't think that there is a more representative artist of the 80s/90s era than Paul Ryan. He is a classic artist and impeccable storyteller and while I did not care much for his art when I was a teenager in those years, looking for flashier art, I have come to appreciate his work a lot and see this classism with a very positive eye. I regret taking his art for granted during those years and even more not being able to enjoy it regularly nowadays. He is also a true reliable professional with long runs on nearly every character of the big 2, rarely missing an issue and always the superb fill in artist when needed. He is one of rare those artists who can draw every character well without denaturing them or imposing too much of his style on them. A modern master to sum it up. Favorite works are his West Coast Avengers run following Byrne which I prefer to his adjective-less Avengers work as I always thought that Palmer's heavy inking did not suit his art. Squadron Supreme of course, DP7, his long and under rated FF run. I also really liked his covers for the Marvel Universe handbook collections. Favorite renditions of character: Tigra, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Doom and the Thing :)
