Starting with Marvel Premiere 25, Chris Claremont and John Byrne (with his multitude of inkers on the Iron Fist title) created the hint of greatness that was yet to come with their pairing. While this relationship was often fractious and divisive, their story-telling was incredible. It was with their work on Iron Fist where they created many characters - Sabretooth probably being their most memorable from their work on this title. This four-year plus pairing (from 1975 to 1980) over several titles (Iron Fist, Marvel Team-Up, and - of course - the X-Men) put Marvel well back on the map to trump DC for years to come.
