Superman / Gen 13
As a longtime fan of Adam Warren's, I first came across Lee Bermejo's art when he drew a two part Gen 13 story Adam wrote in 1999. There was something about his work, so I followed him to this largely forgotten Superman/Gen 13 crossover and have enjoyed watching him grow both stylistically and as a storyteller ever since.
Speaking of Adams, this highly underrated miniseries was written by superstar artist Adam Hughes. Using the Gen 13 characters as a lens, it examines why Superman still matters in an age (and an age of comics) that seemingly have passed him by. All filtered through a funny story about Fairchild getting amnesia and waking up to believe she is Supergirl.
