From April 1969, Graham Coton's evocative cover for 'War Picture Library' #510. This is a perfect example of published image not holding a candle to the visual impact and vivis colour of the original artwork. Coton's artwork featured again on the 'Battle Picture Library' #1392 (June 1980) reprint of 'Next of Kin'. When this artwork was purchased (2013), numerous small pieces of white paper had stuck to the oil paint and general grime detracted from Coton's vivid colours. My local art dealer removed both the paper and the surface grime to reveal the image here displayed.
