Fastner and Larson X-Men painting
The year was 1980 and nothing in the comic book world was as much a phenomenon as the John Byrne X-Men run... Everyone was reading it, living it and loving it. Fanzines and books on it sprang-up like weeds and fans ate it up. It was during this time that SQ Productions came up with the idea of doing an Uncanny X-Men portfolio featuring 4 stunning painted plates, each suitable for framing. They got artist John Byrne to do one, and the other 3 paintings were created by fan-favorite painters Fastner and Larson. The portfolio was a HUGE success (they even did a second portfolio to follow it up!) and anyone who remembers the "glory days" of that time will easily recognize this AMAZING painting titled: "THE POWER HUNGRY MUTANT - MAGNETO!" The X-Men battle Magneto, The Toad, and saveral metal robots!
