Charles B. Slackman (1934 - )who has worked for most of the major magazines, including American Heritage, MAD, and Playboy. He's illustrated numerous books, including work by authors Shirley Jackson and Kurt Vonnegut. Slackman is known for a tight pen style, incorporating a good deal of hatching and cross-hatching. He taught at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and co-taught workshops with R.O. Blechman, certainly a duo that were opposite in styles.
