Bubblegum Crisis 7 Double Vision anime art
Bubblegum Crisis is a direct to video animation series from Japan with character designs by Kenichi Sonoda and others. The stars are the Knight Sabers (Sylia, Priss, Linna, and Nene) who wear armored hardsuits and fight the Genom Corporation and its combat boomer robots. It was one of the first official legally licensed American home video releases of English-subtitled anime in the US in the 1990's. I had it on VHS, US and Japanese laserdisc, DVD, and BluRay now. I have Sonoda and Bubblegum Crisis artbooks, soundtrack CD's, and the American comic book written and drawn by Adam Warren.
Bubblegum Crisis Double Vision features Reika Chang, a Chinese American singer with the professional name Vision. She is the sister of Irene Chang seen in BGC 2. The episode begins with a live television performance of Vision and her band the Revengers. The singer and band are seen in front of a bank of video monitors. Some flashbacks start appearing on the screens behind the band and reveal the murders of Reika's parents by the Gulf & Bradley Corporation and the death of Irene at the hands of a Genom boomer. Reika's connection to the criminal Hou Bang group provides her with the training and tools to avenger her family.
