John Byrne

After Kirby, Byrne is probably the artist I gravitated to (especially growing up in the 1980s) and, after Kirby, probably the second artist I learned to recognize by style reading comics at an early age in the 1970s. I encountered him first at the very end of his work on Iron Fist (one of my first ever comics was IF #14) and a childhood friend had the Byrne MTU books, a couple of which wrapped up the Iron Fist story. So his work on IF is very nostalgic for me, and since I'll probably never own a page from IF #14, I'm thrilled to have this great rendering from one of Byrne's last great Marvel works. Even if it's not really Iron Fist, but hey, Byrne once said the Super Skrull was one of his all time favorite villains, anyway!
