Ricardo Delgado is both a storyboard artist for the movie industry and a fantastic comic book artist resulting in a splendid storyteller. He is mainly known for Age of Reptiles published by Dark Horse (who also published Hieroglyph, his other serie) which earned him two Eisner awards (for best limited serie and talent deserving wider recognition). His work has received accolades from many personalities in the film industry (Ray Harryhausen and John Landis to only name 2) and from basically everyone in the Comic industry whether they are linked to Dinosaurs (Bissette or Stout) or not (Mignola, Moebius, you get the idea…). He is a master storyteller in the sense that Age of Reptiles is mute which is, according to all storytellers serious about their craft, the most difficult exercise to pull off. Delgado pulls it effortlessly with grace and talent, making us care about those ancient reptiles. This was not very difficult for me because as a lifelong Dino enthusiast, I basically read all comics on that topic and his remain on top of the pyramid. Last but not least, his approach to the genre seems extremely documented.
