Wladyslaw Benda was an incredible illustrator from the Golden Age of illustration. In his day, he was well known as Norman Rockwell or NC Wyeth. Amazing how certain great artists fade to the mists of time. Benda was Polish born but trained and worked in New York. He favored an art nouveau style and he often painted exotic beautiful women (because, why not?). Much of his art was destroyed in a fire, which makes finding his originals all the more exciting.
