During his run on New X-Men, Grant Morrison posited a vast society of mutants, many of whom lived in an NYC neighborhood known as "District X" or "Mutant Town." This gritty Marvel Knights series written by David Hine follows New York cop Ismail Ortega, who with his mutant partner Lucas Bishop is dealing with a gang war. The first six issues formed an arc about the mysterious mutant "Mr. M."
At the end of issue #5 (from which I acquired the last four pages subsequently), Officer Ortega realizes he has left his service revolver at home. Before he can get there, his son accidentally shoots his daughter. Mister M saves his daughter but is unfairly hunted for the shooting, leading to a dangerous chain of events throughout issue #6.
Art on #6 was by the excellent fill-in team of Mike Perkins and Andrew Hennessy. The cover of this issue erroneously credits Lan Medina and Alejandro Sicat as the artists. They had been the team for issue #4, and would be the regular team starting with issue #7.
