Flor Padilla & Ronald Compánoca, "Shared Dreams"

Haven Gallery is pleased to present “Shared Dreams”, a dual solo exhibition of Peru based artists Flor Padilla and Ronald Companoca for their debut US solo show at Haven Gallery. “Shared Dreams” features thirteen oil paintings laced with nostalgia, magic and imagination, reminding the viewer of their own childhood musings and dreams. Notable characters from fairytales hang amongst guardians of the natural world, attesting to the impact these stories had on our imaginations in exploring new places and masquerading different identities as we add these layers of creativity to define ourselves. - FLOR PADILLA Flor Padilla was born in Lima in 1980. As a first career, she studied Zootechnics at the National Agrarian University of La Molina. In 2008, following her dreams, she entered the ENSABAP (National School of Fine Arts) and graduated in 2013. Since then, she has dedicated herself to the world of art, holding various exhibitions nationally and internationally. Her works invite us to immerse ourselves in a magical and fantasy world, to return to our childhood and remember that it is never too late to follow our dreams. ______ RONALD COMPANOCA Born in Arequipa, Peru in 1981. He graduated from the School of Arts at the National University of San Agustín in Arequipa in 2002. He has won several awards in painting competitions and has exhibited his artwork in Europe and Central America. The tendency of his art is magical realism with a surrealist bent. The most frequent theme in his works is playful with harlequins, conjurers, magicians, circus acts and mysterious characters in dark environments and with an important presence of animals. The artwork of this Peruvian painter is also characterized by his chiaroscuro technique, like Rembrandt, with a limited range of color that invites the viewer to contemplate and immerse themselves in the world created by the artist.
