Carmen Carnero is one of the current leading artists in American comic books. An exclusive illustrator for Marvel since 2018 and with over a decade of career in the USA, Carmen Carnero has worked on some of the most iconic DC and Marvel titles (Captain Marvel, X-Men Red, Captain America, and among others, Miles Morales: Spider-Man). Carmen Carnero began her professional journey in the world of comics in 2013 with a collaboration on Marvel’s X-Factor, after graduating in Fine Arts and obtaining a doctorate in Art Restoration. It wouldn’t take long for her to start collaborating with Valiant, Dark Horse, and DC, becoming an artist on legendary series like Supergirl, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Bombshells, and Astro City, among others. In 2018, she returned to Marvel to illustrate X-Men: Red; an outstanding work that led to her becoming the lead artist for the relaunch of the Captain Marvel series in 2019, alongside writer Kelly Thompson. Following this great success, Carmen Carnero was included in Marvel’s ‘Stormbreakers’ elite artist program in 2019, confirming her position as one of the major current talents in the industry. Some of the series in which Carmen Carnero has been featured in recent years include Miles Morales, Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, Amazing Spider-Man, and Exceptional X-Men. She is currently working on Iron Man. Carmen states that, after making a living as a tattoo artist or teaching dance, she stumbled into the world of comics by chance.
