MARTIN MYSTERE
MARTIN MYSTÈRE è un insolito detective: archeologo, antropologo, esperto di informatica, è americano di nascita ma si è formato culturalmente in Italia. Non indaga a proposito di casi polizieschi, ma si occupa dei grandi enigmi mai risolti, da quelli archeologici (chi ha edificato il complesso di Stonehenge?), a quelli storici (chi era la Maschera di Ferro?), a quelli scientifici (cosa provoca il fenomeno della combustione umana spontanea ?), a quelli esoterici (qual è il segreto del Graal?), spaziando nel campo degli UFO, dei poteri ESP, della magia. Dalle sue esperienze trae spunti per volumi di successo e per una trasmissione televisiva intitolata I misteri di Mystère, opere che gli hanno valso il soprannome di Detective dell'Impossibile . Pur possedendo un fisico atletico, pur essendo un formidabile tuttologo esperto in mille discipline, pur disponendo di un gadget fantascientifico (un arma a raggi vecchia di quindicimila anni in grado di paralizzare momentaneamente gli avversari), Martin non è un superman; è dotato di grande autoironia (lui stesso non si prende troppo sul serio) e di molti difetti (la tendenza a tirare tardi, la verbosità, la paura di invecchiare) che lo rendono un personaggio umano e accattivante. ( Mi perdoneranno i vari appasionati per la mancanza dell' accento sulla è ma è dovuto a cause tecniche)
