Maikel Verkoelen works as an illustrator under the name of StudioMIK in the Netherlands. After his studies in design and working for 3 years as a graphic designer, he quit. His passion for making illustrations had finally won. Maikel started working under the name of StudioMIK and eventually did various projects for the Floriade 2012, JUMBO, Loesje, Fruitella, OCE and many more. In October 2011, in a search for new challenges he ended up where he started as a kid, drawing comics. Only this time, less innocent. On september 2012, his book 'World of DIK; Something Under The Bed Is Dying', was released by Syndikaat Publishers.
