Don Newton's The Savage Earth 1968
Don Newton contributed to fanzines for several years before breaking into professional comics at Charlton Publications. One of his highlights was "The Savage Earth," which was serialized in the Rocket's Blast and Comic Collector in 1968. Newton wrote penciled and inked the strip himself in a "Sunday-comics" page formate, with each page a chapter of the story.
