It started out as a way to shuttle books to and from shows for autographs and buying/selling. After Bill Willingham did a sketch on the box top, other artists would comment on it when I was buying books or getting autographs, eventually I paid to have some more commissions done, and after a while, most were done for free + Tip. It's gotten ratty over the years, but that's part of the charm of it. I've been adulting a lot since the mid-2000s and haven't gotten to as many conventions as I'd like to, but I'm still proud to show it off whenever I can. I know "art boxes" have become more of a thing these days, but this box dates back to 2003, and is special to me.
