Kenneth James Stuart

Taken from the Saturday Evening Post websites short biography: "Ken Stuart (1905-1993) was a longtime art director for The Saturday Evening Post. He studied at both the Pennsylvania Academy of Art and l’Academie Colarossi located in Paris. Stuart was a freelance cartoonist in additional to creating illustrations for ads and magazine covers. In 1943 Stuart became the art director at The Saturday Evening Post. He worked side by side with Norman Rockwell for18 years. Rockwell has even been quoted as saying he wouldn’t have been the artist he became without Stuart. Stuart then went on to become art director at Reader’s Digest. He died in Wilton Connecticut at age 87. He created four covers for The Saturday Evening Post" My comments. The items in this gallery were from his personal collection and his estate. These were found in the interior pages of 1943 Saturday Evening Post in a series called "People You Know"
