Since the day this dream project was anounced I knew I wanted to own a page from the magical JLA/Avengers team-up. So for about a year and a half I saved every spare dollar I could. I gave up my gym membership and a few other things, making sure I would be able to put away a hundred dollars a month, all earmaked for a true grail. But the question was, what to buy? The art from the books was to be staggered after each books release. If I bought a page or three from issue one, I might miss out on the perfect page from issue three or four. Issue one came out, I passed. Issue two came out, there was some temptation but I passed again. We're talking an 18 month quest and if I was going to spend big chips, it was going to be for a treasure. Issue three came out and I prepared for the following week when the pages would go on sale. I found two DPS pages I was interested in and used a vacation day to be by the computer the moment they went on sale. But when they were posted, they were too expensive. I couldn't afford the pages I wanted. Dejected, I was now left with one final chance ....book 4. But, there was a delay. George Perez had developed an injury while drawing the cover to JLA/Avengers, number three. That gave me time to reflect on the DPS that I had not been able to afford and continued to save addtional funds for issue 4. Issue 4 came out and while there was no DPS that set me tingling like the one in number three did in those long weeks waiting for issue four. There were still plenty of pages to go after. Here are the six I picked up. But even though I had six great pieces by George I came to regret passing on a DPS from JLA Avengers 3. Much to my surprise it became available earlier this Fall. I took the plunge, picked it up and feel very comfortable saying this is my Perez Grail. Enjoy!
