In Praise of Angel Gabriele . . . Angel is so much more than that guy on ebay with the cheap art. He is a 30+ year veteran of the industry. 30 years spent on the cusp of sucess and security, working in the shadow of his more famous peers. His confident line betrays his years of experience, and his affection for his craft and profession shows in every piece. His work exemplifies a simpler time in comics. A time sadly past. A collector's artist, Angel might not ever get the due he deserves, which is really unfortunate; a lot of artists, flavours of the moment, get all the attention. I've come to consider Angel my friend. One of many that consider him a friend. And that is not a bad legacy to have.
