Batman The Animated Series and DCAU artists
The success of the Tim Burton Batman movies prompted network executives to produce a cartoon. They tapped Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski to create a Batman cartoon. Bruce and many talented writers and artists started a great wave of Warner Bros. animation on TV: Superman, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Teen Titans. It continues today with direct-to-video projects like Justice League: The New Frontier.
Bruce has produced some superb comics: Mad Love, the Harley & Ivy miniseries, and other short stories. Paul Dini wrote most of those comics. Glen Murakami helped out on art for Mad Love and co-plotted and drew pencils for "Demons," a tribute to Jack Kirby.
My favorite works of frequent collaborators Darwyn Cooke and J. Bone are the two humorous Tangled Web of Spider-Man stories. The Spirit was a worthy tribute to the work of Will Eisner. I'm also a huge fan of J. Bone's (and writer J. Torres) Alison Dare. The first time I met J., I asked for a Blue Scarab drawing for my niece who's also a big fan. The second time I was able to get a drawing for myself.
Lynne Naylor is a character designer for animation: Ren & Stimpy, Batman the Animated Series, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Clone Wars, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. She's won a National Cartoonists Society Award and an Annie from ASIFA Hollywood.
