Marini, Enrico
Enrico Marini, of Italian nationality, was born in 1969 in Switzerland. From 1987 till 1991 he studies the graphics to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Basel. He is strongly influenced by Manga, as well as by artists as Hermann, Moebius and Otomo. He realizes 4 volumes of the series "Olivier Varèse" between 1992 and 1993, then a scriptwriter, Thierry Smolderen, suggests him changing universe, with "Gipsy", a true hero of flesh and blood, with defects and past, mixture of cynicism, unrefined strength and hidden sensibility. Then, with the scriptwriter Stephen Desberg, he realizes 2 volumes of the western "L’étoile du désert" which reveal him, through this new style, as one of the major talents of the comic strip. His last 3 series are so much success : "Rapaces" (4 volumes, ended series), "Le Scorpion" (7 volumes, current series), "Les aigles de Rome" (1 volume, current series).
