Steve Gan
Steve Gan is one of the country's finest illustrators. His most notable works are "Bernardita," which appeared in Palos Komiks, and "Bulid sa Putikan" in Hiwaga Komiks. He is the co-creator of the successful Filipino comic "Panday." Dubbed as the most exciting illustrator since Nestor Redondo, STEVE GAN is the youngest awardee of the last three SPIC (The Society of Philippine Illustrators and Cartoonists) Contest. In 1980, he garnered first prize for his work on "Ang Panday"(serialized in Pilipino Komiks) in an art contest under the aegis of SPIC, San Miguel Corporation, and Philamlife Insurance. He also won first and second prizes in 1981 for "Mekanizmo," which was serialized in the Tagalog Klasiks. Steve also worked in the US market on Marvel titles namely "Savage Tales of Conan," "Conan the Barbarian," "Skull the Slayer," "Dracula Lives," and "Starlord." His works also appeared in the Warren magazines. He shifted to animation and worked as layout designer on "Biker Mice," "X-men," "Fantastic Four," "Tarzan," "Teacher Pet the Movie," and "Atlantis." Moreover, he worked as a storyboard artist on "Jungle Cubs," "Timon and Pumba," "Calamity Jane," "Savage Dragon," "Invasion America," and "Christmas Carol."
