José Peñarroya
JOSÉ PEÑARROYA (Forcall, Castellón 1910 - Barcelona 1975) Comienza sus trabajos en el mundillo de la animación para los Estudios Chamartin en varios largometrajes de Don Cleque, con el equipo de Francisco Tur. Sus inicios como dibujante propiamente dicho son a finales de 1947 en Editorial Bruguera creando las series Don Pío (1947), Calixto (1947), Gordito Relleno (1948) y Don Berrinche (1948), más adelante nos dejaría clásicos como Don Berrinche, Pitagorín, Pepe el Hincha o Rudesindo el Bucanero. Pero Peñarroya no solo se dedicó a las revistas infantiles sino que participó en revistas y diarios de diversa índole, como el suplemento semanal del diario España, de Tánger, dirigido por Mingote, en el que Peñarroya participa hacia 1957 con su personaje Neronín. En1957, junto a Cifré, Escobar, Conti y Giner, se lanzó a editar la revista Tio Vivo, que duró tres años a causa de la falta de experiencia de sus miembros en el terreno de la gestión. Peñarroya nunca se jubiló, como nunca se jubilarán nuestros recuerdos de su esplédido trazo.
