Raúl Roux
Raúl Roux was the first artist of El Tony, Argentina's first magazine entirely dedicated to comics, which started in September 1929. For El Tony, Roux drew the adventures of the cat 'Rulito, el Gato Atorrante', as well as the first realistic Argentine comic, an adaptation of Grimm's 'Hansel y Gretel'. Roux started his career in 1922, drawing cartoons in Páginas de Columba. He also drew the series 'Hombres que han Conquistado Fama' in El Gráfico for six years. He was also present in La Razón with 'Más Allá', an educational comic about scientific advances. For Patoruzito, he drew 'Fiero a Fierro' and in Mundo Argentino appeared his comics 'Cuentos de Fogón' and 'Lanza Seca'. For this last comic, that appeared in 1949, Roux did extensive research about the military campaigns against the Pampa's aborigines.
