Vulgar the Clown / Jay & Silent Bob Commission

Back in 2003 I discovered that Chris Bailey (who had worked on the brilliant but unfortunately short-lived Clerks cartoon) was a member of the comicart-l group. I hadn't really had any experience of commissions before but as a huge View Askew fan (that's Kevin Smith & Co. the the uninitiated!) I just had to try and get something done by him! I dug out an old rough sketch of my own which had the View Askew mascot Vulgar the Clown (based in turn on a piece of Walt Flanagan artwork) meeting Jay and Silent Bob! Chris managed to fit me in even though he was working on the live-action Garfield movie at the time and he produced something I was just over the moon with! Die hard View Askew fans may also notice a little nod toward the Brian Lynch movie "Big Helium Dog" which I just couldn't resist!
