Uncle Sam #1 Page 26

Even though I don't read nearly as many comics as I used to I still have a huge list of artists who I would really like to add pieces by to my collection. Of course there are several names on that list who I genuinely never expected to get something by and one such name was Alex Ross (I mean have you seen how much some of his stuff goes for?!?!). So when I saw three pages from "Uncle Sam" on eBay with relatively low reserve prices I decided to pick what I thought was the nicest one, picked a limit I was comfortable with (luckily I have been saving for two years so I figured I could afford to treat myself and dip into it just this once!) and then sat back and hoped... and for once it worked! I bid in the last few seconds as did someone else and, thankfully, I won with the exact amount of my maximum bid - just $2 over what the other guy was willing to pay! I'm not an expert on market values but, out of the three pages the seller had, mine was the least expensive and I was happy that I got what, to my eyes, was the nicest looking page for a price that I was happy with! I also think that the page is a really great example of sequential art in general in that you can remove all the exposition and speech bubbles and you're still left with something that makes sense even to someone who is not familiar with the source material (addendum: apologies for the quality of the pictre - the art was slighlty too large to scan properly so I had to take a digital photo and try and straighten it out in photoshop!).
