Weird Fantasy #23 - Commissioned Cover Owner: Andrew Buzzetta Comment posted on 7/14/2025

Fun homage with elements of old EC sci-fi and a bit of new modern indie horror! You can see Kav did his homework. ![]() He is definitely a student of the game. I know he has done some published work and I try to get him to do commissions for people. I like the Weird Science cover he did for me. I might ask him for a horror cover next. |

This must have been at the height of popularity for animation art with PAWS needing to control Garfield material going out. Any Garfield was pretty hard to get for a while in the 90's. ![]() Excellent observation and very true ! |

Midpacifican Military Cartoon - WWII - Owner: Andrew Buzzetta Comment posted on 11/27/2022

There is a great tradition of cartoonists drawing for the armed services! These may not hold the wide appeal as they used to, but their significance can't be denied. ![]() One of the things that I am kind of dismayed at is that at some point someone "mounted" each page on the cardboard backer that is resides on. It seems to be basic elmers glue but I am leery of trying to separate the page from the cardboard so it does not damage each page. To me the value is the historical nature of each of these. Brown University holds some of his work in their collection from what I saw after seeking out information about him. What really surprises me is that a decent amount of his work survived. |

It must have been cool to meet Caroll Spinney. He had a big impact on many of us growing up on Sesame Street. ![]() His wife and he were genuinely nice and gracious people. I think they were taken aback by how many people were lined up to get sketches and meet him at a comic book convention. Anyone who left that table walked away with a smile. You are right, the impact that these guys had on our childhood and overall education is immeasurable. |

Action Comics #549 p.7 - Costume Change Secret Revealed! Owner: Ruben DaCollector Comment posted on 6/11/2020 I absolutely agree with your reasons for picking up this page. I have always thought the same way that the characters sometimes outshine the artist. When I was looking for a Superman page, I went looking for something similar. When people come over this is hanging up. No one outside of comic collectors know who Jack Kirby is from Todd McFarlane. They do know an iconic Superman page when they see one though. I picked this up for the same reason... up up and away. Cool to see someone with a similar mindset in collecting these types of pages. Since you asked to see other pages that are similar, here is mine. |

Great issue! Loved reading Marvel's GI Joe! ![]() It is a very under-appreciated series. I long sold off all my comics but have been buying the IDW hardcover editions of the series with Hama's notes at the end of each issue. You might want to check those out on Amazon. Also check out some of the other pages. I recently managed to secure the Snake Eyes splash from the last issue. Thanks again. |

This page also came up for sale I think about a year ago. I own a few earlier pages and this is one of my favorite issues. I wish it wasn't yellowing so much or I would have bid. It would interesting if you could peel off the bottom panel to see what the original artwork looked like. ![]() I agree with you and believe me, it was almost a detractor but it had a personal importance to me due to the character and my fondness of the book. I do not see much GI Joe art come up for sale and the few pieces I see have asking prices of double from what they normally trade for at auction. The eBay auction is public so I paid the $450 for the page with the belief that if a certain dealer got their hands on it I would be forced to pay $800-900 if I changed my mind in the future. I only have two pages from the Marvel series but am always on the lookout for more, especially if it features characters who I had as a kid. |
