Great page! Always liked this design.
Oh man, I remember reading my first All-Star Squadron comic as a kid. It was one that Jerry was doing the art on. I remember just being amazed. He seemed to truly transport you back to the WWII era. None like him.
This is an amazing page by a comics legend! BUT anyone want to guess why George used a Marvel bristol for this DC cover?? Did he just run out of DC ones and had to pull from his Marvel ones he used on Avengers?! : )
Oh man, amen to that. While nothing is perfect, and you won't make everyone happy, I always loved the way they kept and adapted/integrated the Golden Age characters into the DCU post-Crisis. Definitely was a huge hole for New 52 era. Forever grateful to Geoff Johns for bringing them back in Rebirth, Doomsday Clock, and subsequent New Golden Age. Let's just hope DC has learned it's lesson and keeps them around.
Yes indeed....those were the days. Now that song is stuck in my head : )

Agree! That interplay of the shadows with the stark whites is really nice. He definitely paid attention in Mazzucchelli 101.
