I couldn't agree more. I have the video of him drawing this and if CAF allows videos, will load it. the perspective work is astounding. Truly a master.
Congrats on the pages!
What I love most about this is that he inked these himself. There's a very distinct Buscema brush pattern in them.
Thanks. I feel this captures a mjor part of Conan's journey in a very cinematic way.
Thanks a lot! I always loved how he captured the battle scenes.
Thanks a lot! Rob definitely did an awesome job on the book!
I had once missed a page by him a few years ago and always regretted that. Glad to have finally gotten this one. Definitely one of the most gifted artists of the Bronze Age!
Someone should publish this story somewhere even if just as a tribute!
Thanks a lot Eric. Rob's definitely churning out some art for the ages!
Each tombstone, each blade follows the light source! A true master!
It's actually a few different pieces that come together as the DPS. I got the privilege of getting the entire book but it was a set of around 40 pieces of art. I have created a whole new folder for this book! 😅
Thanks! A perfect nod to Eisner as well!
Thanks a lot! I wish they print this books in BnW too.
The moment I saw an image of this years ago, I always wanted it. Now I feel like getting an Eisner piece to go with it. 😂
Thanks a lot, Ron.
One can never get enough Bernie, I guess. 😅
Hah! Bernie couldn't go wrong with a graveyard! I remember old Spirit stories by Eisner where the title would be a part of the art.
And the way Bernie gave homage to Eisner on this piece is just a treat for the eyes. 😄
Thanks a lot Ruben!
I have been on a strict no buy policy this year but couldn't pass on this one! 😅
Thanks a lot Joseba! Love Rob's work. His Conan work has been one of the best in recent times for sure!
Thanks!!!
I think it's 10X15 with an image area of 8X10.5.
Thanks. Bronze age Detective stories always felt more real to me than the new ones. I wasn't even born back then but somehow that makes the most of my collection today.
Hah! I gave the options to Sid and his first response was - Trap Jaw! Love how this turned out.
Thanks a lot Patrick. I have this big sketchbook with 48 or so pages that I carry to cons to get MOTU characters drawn into it. Hopefully, one day I'll have all the pages filled with different characters! :D
This one and the Dragon's gift were the ones that were seen on TV first and then minicomics I believe. Alcala captured the events beautifully!!!
Thanks a lot. Couldn't get the minicomics as a kid, so, trying to compensate for that getting the pages as an adult. :D
Thanks!!! I love paintings and just couldn't pass on this one.
Thanks a lot. :)
He went all out with the backgrounds! A master!!!
Thanks!!! :)
Captures the essence of the character perfectly I guess.
I have heard there are more pages of this book out there. Someone needs to hunt all of them down and get them printed!!
