I see this and I immediately think of Sin City. I don't know if the homage route was the one you were taking with this, Dan but I love it; particularly how WG's hair flows off into the lightning. That's a real cool effect. Nice job.
This is an incredibly clean sketch of "That Chick." Matt Clark does some real nice work, I especially like the glimmer in Natu's eyes; it adds personality to the piece. As an aside, I think the greatest thing - stylistically speaking - to come out of ReBirth was the element of solid black in the GL costumes. It makes the green pop more, and in this case the white space on her tunic. A nice piece all around.
Very nice, Darryl. The facial expression captures the character very well. Kudos.
This looks a lot like you're trying to capture Heath Ledger as The Joker....I like the direction you're going in with this sketch
So, Mary Marvel is a KISS fan? Who woulda thunk it? Very nice work on the inks, Dick.
This looks wicked, Tom. I love the way your color style compliments Ethan's pencils.
The English language can't describe how cool this cell is; so I'm gonna make a word up......FANTASMAGORICAL
I think that's the most muscular Power Girl I've ever seen....looks like she could take out She-Hulk with a flick of her beefy wrist
That's Batman....with what appears to be a shovel in his chest....that's awesome. Very nice work, Norm
This is really cool....looks even better than the Hal that appeared in JLU
I seem to remember Ethan saying that he screwed up Sinestro's head on the original page and it was corrected digitally for the book...after seeing this I know what he means. That is a lot of forehead! Still a hell of a page though, and I don't think I'm really in any position to criticize.
This looks suspiciously like my Banks Kyle Rayner.......hmmmmmmmmmmmm, very suspicious indeed. But, in all seriousness though, this thing looks awesome.
It's a classic looking Arthur. No water-hand and oozing style, Darryl always does great work. This is a very cool illustration.
Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the complement on the sketch. I'd love to see your rendition of the character someday.
Man, I love this piece. It captures the tough, but extremely feminine nature of the character perfectly. I think I may even prefer this to Adam Hughes' version of the character. Just awsome, Michael.
