No problem. I appreciate all the cool Iron Man stuff. Now comes the fun part of identifying where each belongs!
I know how much Marvel loves seeing their characters smoke. This is great! Ben just doesn't look the same without his stogie!
Constant, I never tire of looking at your collection. I'm envious of all the great stuff you've been able to collect. It's just positively breathtaking.
I'm glad you like it. I actually requested Josh leave this uninked since I really like pencil sketches from many artists. Obviously I have many inked works, but I'm a huge nut for pencil work.
I was hoping to see an Iron Man by Golden. If I get an opportunity to meet him at one of the conventions in the upcoming year, I'm requesting an Iron Man sketch from him. Very nice sketch, E.J.
You may be correct about this never being published. I've never heard of it and I've never seen this cover before. Nice piece of art though.
A really beautiful sketch, Ted. Are you a member of the Golden Yahoo Group? If so, we'd love to see you add it to our archive of Golden artwork there. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Michael_Golden_/
An update to my last comment. Carlos is going to be the artist on the new Wildstorm series, "Deathblow", coming out soon. Check it out. The preview art I've seen so far looks stunning.
Thanks. I also bought JSA #83 but need to scan it. Tom gave a 2-part sep of that one so it needs a bit more narrative. I also just got a response from him explaining how the color guides work so I need to update the description on this a bit later.
If every other artists had a fraction of Adam's talent, the industry would be crazy mad with incredibly talented artists. Few people come close to even touching the raw skill of this guy.
I always felt Tuska and Heck were underrated in Iron Man history. While not the most dynamic artists in the characters history, both have certainly earned their place just based on time invested and number of issues drawn. It's nice to see George hasn't lost any of his "punch" in his elder years.
Where did you find the matte for the frame? That thing is just an amazing accent to the painting! I'm always looking for the perfect matte for my artwork, but the options I find at the Aaron Brothers that does my custom framing seem so limited. I've never seen anything like this before.
All excellent choices. Once you get this finished, you'll definitely want to have this thing museum framed. It's going to be worth a great deal and irreplaceable.
Ha! Fat chance! (nice try though) Besides, it's the opening piece in my sexy women sketchbook and serves as a nice bit of competition for other artists to up the ante. I appreciate your kind words about the artwork though. Pearson's stuff is fantastic and I love his stuff.
What a simply stunning piece! Who do you have in mind to finish Iron Man?
Carlos is one of the great artists working at Wildstorm. You can see some of his work in recent trades of the Outsiders.
