I really wanted to bid higher on this, but I had just purchased the cover to Starman issue #63 the month before and just didn't have the funds.
Congrats on a great piece!
Sigh, I saw those. But i don't think I can afford another big art purchase in the same month. Hopefully they go to a good home and don't get picked up by a dealer who just wants to flip them.
I'm so jealous. I tried bidding on this, but I had already commited to buying a rather expensive Starman cover the following month and just couldn't go any higher. Congrats on a very fine piece of art.
Fyi, this piece has been sold three times in the last five years. So if you should ever decide to be the fourth seller, please let me know. ;)
What an amazing piece. I didn't evn know this existed, where was it published?
Awesome page! Color me jealous. Also contact me if you ever decide to sell. :)
I belive that's what it was called, it was tied to a podcast of locals. I too live in Berks, small world!
I was very sorry to part with this page, but I'm glad it went to a good home! Bought this from Hardman directly at a small Con in Reading, PA.
Oh wow, I don't remember this cover. Colossus being choked out by amora? Yes please.
Jealous! Love Ha's work, I wish that I could find some more of his pages from Starman.
I hope you enjoy it!
Also, how did I not notice that panel one has a stat?
So you are the one who outbid me at the last minute. Glad to see it went to a collector rather than a dealer! Hopefully another page from this issue comes up for sale soon. It was one of my favorite issues in the run. Congrats!
Congrats! I really wanted to bid on this, but real life finances got in the way. :)
Great page! If you ever decide to part with it I'd love to add it to my Starman collection... ;)
Thanks! That's a real compliment coming from someone with such an amazing Starman art collection himself.
In fact from the looks of your collection we were we reading a lot of the same comics in the 90s and early 2000s.
Nice! I have yet to find a page from the Stars My Destination storyline for sale. This is a great story page.
Thanks Simon. Tha father/son relationship in this series is what made it resonate with me so much.
I just picked this up in auction a month ago, there's been quite a bit of Starman pages hitting the market lately. Too many for me to afford to buy them all sadly!
Another stunner Mike. It blows my mind that this is doen in watercolor and not oils.
This is a nearly perfect Cerebus page. I just wish I'd been able to afford it last year when Gerhard was running his sale. Congrats on the amazing pickup!
When did you see this for $1500!? I would have jumped on that price. The last two owners were asking $4k and then the most recent owner was asking for $6k.
Keep dreaming, this one is all mine. :P
I've had my eye on this piece for years but wasn't willing to pay the asking price. We might have some stiff competition for this one, but hopefully it goes to a fan like us and not a dealer.
So you're the one who outbid me on this piece. I'm just happy that it went to a fan/collector and I wasn't outbid by a dealer who immediately relisted the piece for sale at a substantially higher price. Its a great image of Tim and Leah.
Fantastic! I've been looking for a page from the funeral issue for a while now but they don't seem to surface very often. This is a great example.
This is absolutely wonderful. I love everything about it.
Awesome splash, but no Lockjaw? Was he not around until later?
This is such a beautiful page. I had this one reserved in Gerhard's sale last July and then let it go when someone else backed out of buying issue 235 page 20. If only I could have afforded both... :)
Fantastic layout, and a beautiful view of Opal City. If you sould ever decide to part with this page, please do let me know. :)
Very nice. But surely you don't have need for so many Books of Magic cover pieces. You should really sell one of them to me. Or you could just send it to my place and skip the whole "sell" part of the transaction. :)
Judging by your avatar I'm guessing you have zero interest in selling this page. :) Howeve if you should ever change your mind please let me know. Starman and Agents of Atlas are the only two titles I collect and I don't have any pages from the "Stars My Destination" storyline that this page is from. I love Adam's smile on this page!
Oh my. May I third that sentiment? This is my favorite from the whole run as well. Reminds me of his run on Ex Machina. And without the title and issue box the symmetry is so stunning. If you ever do decide to part with this...
