This one is a fake. Traced/copied from the original. There are many differences between the two. There are even many differences between this one and the other version on this site. I can't believe that Art did multiple copies of almost the exact same drawing with only slight variations between them. Mine is a real copy, photocopied from the original.
This is 100% fake and I'd know because I'm looking at a photocopy of the original. It's basically the same, but so many details are different. This fake was likely traced off of one of the +/- 30 photocopies of the original that were made. As mentioned in another comment, the Honolulu Comic Club made a photocopy sets of all of our sketches. There are 93 copies in the set so if they're using this as the source for their fakes then there can be a lot more floating around. I guess my set is a good way to determine authenticity.
Art once discussed the mini sketches at the top of this page, and the one I have. They are all Gumby as superheroes. I can't see what hero you have, but mine is Gumby Hunter. He said that Marvel had sliced them all off. It's possible that these little sketches are the very first recorded Adams Gumby work. Now we know there are at least 2 of them.
I know for a fact that the original is real. It, and a series of others, were done by Art for Jelly's Comics in Honolulu while Art was signing/vacationing there. I've never been a fan of the style of this one and the others, but it was done by him. As for the legitimacy of this one in particular, well, I own this one too. Though mine is a 'real' fake. All the members of the Honolulu comic club put their huge collection of sketches together and made photocopy sets for all of us to share. So I have a copy of the original, from the original owner among this collection.
